Hey guys. We recently posted a couple videos on Youtube and I thought you all should know. Unfortunately, due to our schools web filter I cannot give you the link, but if you go to youtube and search Team 1764 you should find us with ease. very interesting! What kind of system did you use to keep electrical connect for the drive motors since the whole electrical box spins with the turret? Bushings? Or does it have a short range, and loose wires were enough.

it has a 90 degree, either direction turn. For that, we decided to just run a long string of wires and use surgical tubing to hold it with-in the "bumber perimeter".

It's less of an issue this year than in years past, since all robots have to remain within the bumper perimeter, but it's probably good to throw a word of caution out there to all teams: When you have wires that are loose, dangly, billowy, or otherwise not running along a fixed, structurally sound part of your robot, you run the risk of another robot snagging your robot and yanking on it. Be sure to take that into account when designing your robot! It was a problem for the Robettes last year, and it's well worth the extra time to figure out how to avoid those problems!

That being said, it appears in the video that the wires here are running down the back and secured within the robot perimeter, which should provide as much protection for them as possible with a design like this. good job!

Although the lazy susan is capable of turning a lot farther, it's limited only by the fact it can rip all 17 wires to pieces if it goes too far.
