I agree with what others have said - if you have to point it out, it becomes unfunny. But then again, if it's really important for someone to know you're being sarcastic (i.e. "Deleting System32 makes your computer run faster"), then you may want to point it out. I personally favor the <sarcasm> </sarcasm> tags because squigleys are used for non-sarcastic emphasis, but whatever. It's kind of up to the person writing it, and as long as people can tell it's sarcasm, it doesn't really matter how they can tell.
