Hmm... Someone should make some userbars for the different hotels FIRST teams are staying at this year, just like the userbars we typically have for the divisions. :p

Although 1525 isn't going down as a team, 2 of the members are going and we are staying in the Marriott Marquis!!!!

If anyone was there 2 years ago, for Rack and Roll, our team started the Happy Birthday. It was our Mentor's birthday and then security got all tight and lame and stuff!!! : P

We also started the elevator tag, with the hat.

I however am and since Kettering neglected to tell me until today to book a room I am in search of one that ISNT going to cost them an arm and a leg (I may not be paying for it but I dont see a point in spending a lot for a room during FRC competitions, who sleeps?) Any suggestions of a place within walking distance and that has non smoking rooms at a reasonable price or a team who has room for a Kettering rep? (Me)

For those staying at the Omni, wifi is free as long as you pre-register (before you get there). There is a charge per day for wifi if you are not pre-registered.

We qualified in the final week, so things were pretty booked up. We are at the Mariott out in Norcross. Probably 20-30 minutes depending on traffic.

The windows are coming for downtown Atlanta’s Westin Peachtree Plaza, but they’re not here yet. Every piece of glass on the exterior of the landmark circular hotel on Peachtree Street will have to be replaced, due to the tornado of March 2008. The project is expected to begin in June or July and take at least a year to complete, said hotel general manager Ed Walls on Thursday.

So why has it taken so long? “The windows were 35 years old, and it’s tough to match them,” Walls said.
The hotel lost 81 custom-made window panes in the tornado. And those original windows aren’t made any more.

Even if the original windows were still manufactured, they no longer meet the city’s code standards, Walls said.
The top priorities for giving the 73-story hotel its new “skin” have included safety and code guidelines. But that’s not all.
“We want to make the place look good,” Walls said.

766 was staying there as well. Some of you may have seen our team sprawled in the corner playing Mafia one night, and then Western chess and Chinese chess the other two;:D most of us stayed from Wednesday night to Sunday morning.
