Pit display project - need some web guru's help

I want to start off by saying this, "I have VERY little experience in website design"! Now, let's get to business.

For my team's pit design we are going to have a computer hooked up to a monitor as a part of the pit. I thought of having the computer display a live feed of our regional and maybe another feed of something else. Well, I'm not totally dumb and I figured out how to do that.

Now, what I am having trouble with is how would I go about taking the scores for an official event and putting it on the website? Like in a side panel or something? The scores would have to auto refresh too. I've tried widgetbox.com and messed around with that, but it really is not doing what I need it to do.

The site is http://home.comcast.net/~ben_abraham/904.htm

I used web.com to create it, and then my friend uploaded it to his comcast site to get rid of the ad.

Like I said, I don't have very much website design experience. I know basic HTML and that is about it. Thanks for any help what so ever.

One easy way you could display event scores would be to use the Twitter feeds available out there on the intertubes (or their related RSS feeds). You could parse from The Blue Alliance (which usually has more human-readable content), @FRCFMS (which has more data), or one of the other accounts floating around. However, you'd have to figure out how to get internet access at the event. This will involve either some open internet access somewhere at the venue (spotty), or somebody with a cellular data plan (which can be bucks).

It's not impossible, just possibly tricky.
