And 987 is looking forward to your visit as well! Congratulations on your alliance's win at SVR this weekend and thanks for the great hospitality. Only sorry we didn't get a chance to go head to head or even join forces but maybe things will be different in Vegas...;)

Except the wind that we have had for the past few days.

This the best regional to watch this weekend!
Team 359 would be there in a heatbeat, if they and Hawaii had no conflicts.
If either of our regionals move in the future, I'M THERE! :D
Good luck everyone................may the best alliance win.

Re: 2009 Las Vegas Regional

We had a great time.

3006 You have a great team, not just for a rookie, but for any team. You have the full package from a good robot, good drivers, good scouting, good cheering section. You were very high on our scouting and were very excited when you picked us.

1197 I'm not sure we've ever had the chance to play with you at a regional, despite being only 10 miles away. It was great fun.

1622 & 987 We love both of your teams. You guys have awesome robots. 1622, this will become the first of many regional wins.

1013 You played great defense throughout the eliminations and will be a force to be reckoned with at the championship.

254 Your robot sure is devastating. Good luck at the championship.

The Las Vegas Regional Planning Committee This was a very well run event, and we look forward to attending in the future.

A big thanks to teams 1622 and 1013, you guys played amazing and we couldn't of won this regional without you.

Also a huge congratulations to the finalist alliance, including an amazing rookie team 3006, the always gracious and all-around great FIRST team 330, and the 1197 torbots. You guys were a very scary alliance to play in the finals.

Thank you for everyone that made it out to the Las Vegas Regional, it was the best one yet!

Re: 2009 Las Vegas Regional

Thank you everyone of our alliance partners throughout the event. Special thanks to our partners 987 and 1013, we worked great together and would love to do it again someday.

Coming from east coast FIRST teams, I have to say how amazing it is to be out here at west coast events and be working with 330, 254, and all the other big name west coast teams. You all live up to your reputations and then some.

330, you guys were a very tough strategic alliance. It was great to play against you in the finals, and would have been with either outcome.

We all had a great regional and look forward to seeing everyone in Atlanta!

Re: 2009 Las Vegas Regional

Wow. Simply amazing.

When the team first read that the Las Vegas Regional was going to be the most experienced and "difficult" regional, we trembled and panicked. It never crossed our minds that we would make it this far.

Some major thank yous go out to:

3006 - You guys were an amazing group of people with a quality dumper. Never would've thought that you were a rookie team. Congratulations on your many awards and we hope we'll play with you in the future.

330 - Your well-rounded robot was outstanding and your team has always been amazing and gracious at both of our regionals. Keep on surfin'.

987, 1622, 1013 - Every one of you will be a force to be reckoned with in Atlanta. We'll be watching.

And to every other team, volunteer, judge, and admin at the event - You all made us feel welcome at our first Las Vegas Regional. We'll definitely consider coming back next year.

We would like to thank all of the teams at Las Vegas for helping us in our rookie year and showing us what FIRST is all about. We want to give a special thanks to 1197 and 330 for being great alliance partners and making our rookie year one to remember. We also want to thank all the teams we played in the finals for giving us tough matches and helping us to play at our best!

See you all next year!

Re: 2009 Las Vegas Regional

I'd like to extend a big thanks to our Alliance partners 987 and 1013 in helping us attain our first regional win.

Both of your teams understand what it takes to win, and understood the overwhelming importance of strategy in this year's game. The Combination of all of our data, excellent human players, and cooperation within the teams is how we accomplished this together. It was a pleasure and an honor to have you as alliance partners.

I'd also like to extend a big thank you to the Alliance of 3006, 330, and 1197. You guys were a blast to play, as well as a very tough alliance.

3006, keep up the good work. Your team number is the only indication that you are a rookie team. Your drivers, robot, the entire package you present has the qualities of a team that has been around for much longer. Good job winning Rookie Inspiration as well as Highest Rookie seed, you earned every bit of those awards. We look forward to seeing your team grow in the near future. Great work and keep it up!

1197, Your great driving and excellent defensive maneuvering made you a very effective defensive robot. Very nicely done.

330, It was great to play you guys. You are one of the friendliest, competitive and professional teams in FIRST. It was a pleasure to play your team, and in the Finals at that! Win or Lose, it is always fun to play you guys, and I truly mean that.

Does anyone know which team submitted the WFFA essay for the winner? Fantasy FIRST could use the information...

Re: 2009 Las Vegas Regional

WOW! What a regional! This is taking awhile to decompress from. There were many honors to go around, however.

What an honor to be aligned with the 2007 World Champions, 987. Your combination of great offense and crucial defense at critical times showed your great experience. You changed gears from offense to defense effortlessly. Your human player was fast and accurate gaining critical points for our alliance.

What an honor to be aligned with a multi-regional champion team like 1013. Your ability to pin both defensively and offensively slowed the opposing alliance and made our scoring runs more effective. Your human player was amazing. She filled 1622 left-handed, right-handed, both handed, on the fly, and was incredibly disciplined in her target selections. She was amazing.

What an honor to face a great alliance, especially the 2005 World Champions, Team 330 in the finals. This is the team we began modeling ourselves after in 2005. They are great teachers and generous to any who ask for help. Of equal honor was standing next one of their mentors during the finals as we talked about the great matches we were seeing. This is someone I have watched since 2006 as a person representative of the FIRST ideal. Some year we hope to have the honor of being Regional Champions with them.

1622, enjoy the hardest, funniest work to date; then, next week back to work cause you’re going to ATLANTA!

Wow. Team 2339 is ready to rock next year!
254 and 1538, thank you for selecting us in the final alliance, we almost pulled it off.
See you next year and good luck in Atlanta:)
