Some Help Please?

I'm the captain of my team, but this is all still relatively new for me.

I was wondering if anyone could provide some help with what we need to remember for our first regional? (Waterloo)

Any things that are commonly forgotten about/missed?

Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

Kristen

First things first: Relax! It's going to work out alright. Make sure everyone gets plenty of sleep and eats a good breakfast the morning of. Get there a little before the doors open to get good seats. Are you guys planning on scouting?

All i can really think of specificly is all of your cables, for example the patch cables, power cables.

Remember to bring an extension cable or two, your Bill Of Materials, any important Shipping Paperwork, Spare parts, any very unique tools, Unused parts that you can trade a team for another part, and a sense of humor.

we're probably going to scout a little bit.
if nothing else just meet with the other teams, and make some potential alliances.

we're actually going to both the waterloo regional and the toronto one, so waterloo is going to be more of a warm-up, since its a considerably smaller competition (only 26 teams, compared to 58 at toronto)

Remember to train your Payload Specialist (human player) before the competition starts. That's where all the penalties are this year, and most of them are stupid mistakes.

FIRST off,

a few things to remember

1) bring the tools you need to un-crate separate from all your other tools! (we forgot our drill the first year, and ended up opening the crate with screwdrivers. (took FOREVER)

2) as metioned above, don't be afraid to be a little early.

3) if you need help, PLEASE ASK! Our team is always willing to help whenever we can. Even with our team being unusually small this year, we will still try and help whenever possible, and almost all the teams do the same.

We are attending waterloo and toronto aswell, so hope to see you there, just look for the dozen or so people in the black and bright yellow t-shirts.

Best of luck to you!

Double, triple chick all the stuff you want to bring. Just remember When in doubt bring it. You never know what can go wrong and what you need to fix it.

Bring your entire KOP. If you don't use it, someone else probably has a use for it.

Remember to note what not to bring. For example, the operator side of the wireless connection. If you MUST bring it, disable the wireless before the event and just use it as a router.

If you didn't ship your batteries, remember them.

It may seem obvious, but it would be a terrible thing to forget.

Also, remember to bring your gracious professionalism! :D (it's always good to have)
