there was one other bot i cant think of that was there that was also great

but we could score so well people had to double team us just to stop the madness:D

I have to agree with this, why so you think we picked you guys? You were awesome!!!

I'd choose Team 45... though 234 and Robohawks (can't remember the number) look tough too.this is from what i've seen at DC and VCU.
And the tornado bot looks great, but i've never seen a team hold more than ~10 balls at once, though many can. I'm not sure it that huge capacity is really needed, by the time you've picked up 30 balls the game is nearly over. our 25 hopper has never gone past half filled, and ive seen the same issue with other large capacity teams such as MOE and DOTM

I have to say 67, we were eliminated, but the sheer defensive draw, which they can still score effectively against makes the entire alliance better. We once held them for 25 seconds pinned, which was great i havent seen anyone able to do anything near that. i would compare them to 1114's bot last year, completely dominant.

You are too kind but no one should forget that it was 179's robot that got us there.

In addition "the Scoring Ninja" still has a few new tricks up its chain drive for Atlanta.

i think the best rookie team was 2775 dewalt. they were at saint louis, and they were amazing.

Oh believe me, 148 gets at least 20 balls at one time and then unloads in 5 seconds. They are definately the top bot I've seen in person but I've only seen OKC and Dallas; though I will say that 1114 just looks devastating but I've never seen any of their matches. Be wary of 148! They may just drive around for most of the match but if they get you. . .go ahead and concede the win to them.

team 148...not really a whole lot of explanation needed!

From what I've seen online, 67 is pretty crazy.

Oh and from what I've seen in person, 1771. It's awesome to watch this thing go:

And that's without the fans on the back that supposedly give it an extra 7 pounds of thrust. They also told us it shoots 5 moon rocks per second.

Re: Top Bots for 2009?

I think this year more than any other, the world champions will not be the teams with the best robots, but the teams with the best strategy. Every robot in the field has unique strengths, and every robot in the field certainly has unique weaknesses. Building an alliance in which the teams complement each other while protecting individual weaknesses and understand their roles will be key to winning the game, not necessarily just having 3 dominant robots.

I would deffinately rate 1574 as a top bot this year, though they failed to win Israel they dominated it through the Qualifying Matches and were the team to beat during Elims - and were only defeated with double D on them during the entire match.

I would not compare our robot this year to the 2008 1114 robot. IMO that robot was one of the most dominant robots in FIRST history.

We appreciate all of the compliments, though.

Our robot is good but, there are a number of other teams that are just as good:

1114, 1625, 254/968 (my favorite), 148, 71, 217, 45

Just to name a few that I have seen on video. I am sure there are many others that should be on the list.

As for defensive....469 is the most dominant defensive machine we have run across so far. I am sure we will see more as the year progresses.

Team 222!!

They were AWESOME at Pittsburgh, and their alliance won.
We were supposed to be a part of that alliance.:(
