I'm saying team 67. but a couple teams could take them out like team 245,1,1918,70. if some how three of those teams were team up against 67 there alliance team. it would make a amazing match.

I'm going to throw a vote in for 1507. A team that will not be at Championship. They were 12-2-2 at FLR (both losses came in elims), 10-4-0 at Philly, (2 of 4 losses came in elims vs 56 365 395).

Not too shabby for a team nobody ever heard of...

We were supposed to be a part of that alliance.:(

Thanks Maggie. 1708 played some awesome defense! I tend to stay away from these threads, but I'm gonna throw some others in here 1218 was great at Pittsburgh, 816 was great at Philly and there are many others that have huge potential when left to play their game...11, 56, 103, 291, 365, 395, 1153, 1507, 1629 & 1923 stand out as offensive threats. I'm sure there are some I missed and I didn't covered any machines I haven't seen in person. Good luck to everyone!

Building an alliance in which the teams complement each other while protecting individual weaknesses and understand their roles will be key to winning the game, not necessarily just having 3 dominant robots.

Our head mentor said this at the beginning of the build season. I completely agree with this. Teamwork is a HUGE part of the game this year.

67 looks like a VERY strong team this year (they were good last year too) we will see how they do at Troy :) Good luck!!!

And thank you everyone for the compliments!

1625 and 67 would probably tale my top spots so far this year. It is hard to tell just because the nature of the game makes it a little more unpredictable than previous years.

148 is definitely a top bot there release speed is impressive and I wouldn't be surpised to see them win their second regional this week.

254/968 look good as always. Their dumpers are powerful. 968 may have come up short at San Diego, but they were a top bot there. 254 looked very strong in silicon valley, and I can only expect them to get better.

After watching qualifications I was convinced that 79 was going to win Florida, although they came ever so close to winning and didn't quite pull it off in the end, they are still on my list of top robots.

217 looked good at Midwest, but there performance at MI Cass Tech was definitley more convincing as to why they chould be a top bot this year.

111 looked very strong at Midwest, there run at Boilmaker was cut short, but I still think they are one of the best.

39 Never had an insanely high score at Arizona, but they found a way to win the majority of their matches and I expext them to make a run in Atlanta.

45's performance has been very good this year, they can boast 26 wins in 2 regionals and one title along with a very cool propulsion system.

71 is a beast as usual (Pun intended) and they are definitely in the hunt for the best robot.

As for top shooters, 1114 has been mentioned and looks really good. I would like to add 1717 because they were very close to regional title and had the capability to control the out come of their matches. 40's auto mode is ridiculous and if if a couple small things went a little differentley they could easily have their second straight multi regional title year.

Biggest Bullet You'll Dodge at Championship: 2199 (Robo-Lions), great shooter (almost an 1114 clone) with a ridiculous human player. Went 19-8-0 in DC and Chesapeake and never scored below 60 points, scoring 100+ points five times, including 142 in Chesapeake (only the 151 points from Midwest is higher).

I definitely agree with what you said about 2199 being dominant, but 1114 and 2199's robots don't seem very similar to me (unless I misinterpreted what you wrote).

Re: Top Bots for 2009?

As with most games, driver skill makes up a huge part of the robot performance, but I'm not sure whether driver skill is something that everyone is factoring into their picks or not... That seems more like a 'top team' thing than 'top bot' to me.

Ignoring driver skill, 1114 and 1717 stand out to me as having the best robots this year. Both have very high fire rates, can shoot just about anywhere they please, and are beautifully designed and built. 148 comes in close to the top too, with their high rate of fire and rediculous amount of ball storage. Tornado is by far one fo the most beautiful robots this year as well... I could look at it all day!

If we are including driver skill, then I would add 1625 and 399 to my list as well. Simple and very effective.

Also, 40's autonomous definitely earns them a spot in this thread... It was driving better by itself than most teams can manage during teleop!

Re: Top Bots for 2009?

Our data had 2081 and 234 as the best robots at BMR. Both were strong scorers, though the nature of the competition at BMR made it so no single team could win alone. Between both the human player and the robot, each team averaged around 18-19 balls scored per match (the next highest was 45 at just over 14).

2199 and 1114 don't even seem remotely similar to me, other than they can both score quickly and use rover wheels to drive...

Yes. I attended DC, where they competed.

The robot looks like such a friggin beast. So intimidating and puts up a massive score. I can only expect them to get better and play a huge role in their division in Atlanta. Should be sick to watch.

Are there any pictures of team 67s robot? I've been hearing all these people talking about it, but I have no idea what it looks like.
