1625 Radical Redesign

I understand Team 1625 Winnovation has completely re-designed and re-built their robot, except for the chassis/drive train.
Apparently, they wanted to score more in autonomous, and found that their new autonomous mode was so good, they're just going to use it for the whole game.
I'll post more info as I get it.

Looking Toroid? Using autonomous mode for entire match? What sort of a joke is this?

Wait a second, I get it! This fella is beating us to the April Fool's punch by posting two days early. Good one!

Oh, and as for 1625's new design, I believe it looks something like this

I'm not sure it meets the bumper configuration rules!

This just made my day...the bumpers could have been purple tie-dye though...then they really would have rocked.

Re: 1625 Radical Redesign

Hey, Andy, you sure that software to keep him inside the bumper perimeter and keep the trailer hitch in the right location works? You do that, I'll take care of the rover wheels...

Rover wheel Segway walle?

I love it.

Edit: Jane, you are totally right!

Everything looks better with purple tie dye for the record.

Something seems very off. Those don't look like Rover Wheels...

That's an ingenious camera design, for sure.

OK guys, you got me!:D
I was hoping for another 24 hours to really milk this. Oh well!
I even have video of the upgrade, which was going to be a totally autonomous robot - namely, one of our team members riding around on the chassis, picking up moon rocks and throwing them into a trailer.
In any case : Happy April Fools' Day, from one of the biggest fools around!

A little birdie said that it was still March....

Now it has a red trailer... and team numbers.

Re: 1625 Radical Redesign

this is Oregon robohawks' lead programmer and I happen to know that they made an awsome bot this year.
They placed top 3 teams at the chicago reginal
my team was mentored by them last year.

it looked nothing like that wana be first bot
(the bumpers are orange and it was a wide clear rectangle)

Don't forget the signal light Wall•E needs to pass inspection

Don't Wall E's arms exceed the maximum dimensions at times?

Hopefully not, maybe it's just the perspective we have! But look at Wall-E go, no orbit balls in THAT trailer :yikes: (Andy I love you :P )

That's where good programming comes in to prevent that from happening. :)

Great! Pink will be dryhumped the entire Championship and 1625 will wonder why their bot's always sad!

some one should really add rover wheels to that image

Re: 1625 Radical Redesign

O i get it Walle compresses all 120 moon rocks and 8 super cells in his compressor (without breaking the no ball damage rule), all in autonomous. Then proceeds to shoot them out into an opponents trailer, he then proceeds to play defence the rest of the match(despite there are no more orbit balls), because those rover wheels look like they apply much greater traction than usual. He gets the high score of Lunacy and rockets off to save the human race.

O wait that was Andy Baker!:D

Internal storage. You can't see them because they're inside his compression unit. Keep an eye on your trailer if you see this robot coming after you!

bigbeezy 05-04-2009 03:16

Re: 1625 Radical Redesign

that doesnt appear to be an easily accessible way to remove balls after the match :p

hunter343 08-04-2009 10:04

Re: 1625 Radical Redesign

There's a special hatch on the back to remove them.
