Small question

I wish to know what type of cable does this use

Is it an IO or a PWM?

I'm not sure I understand the question. I believe most people use "PWM cables" for it, but only the ground and signal wires. The +5 wire needs to be cut back and covered so it doesn't accidentally short to anything. The other end of the cable connects to a digital input on the control system.

Well I haven't seen the piece myself...I just want to make a limit switch for a motor. When it hit that thing it will stop.
So I thought that piece would be great.
By the connections I was reffering in LV. What type of VI is that? IO o PWM? Because I believe it is a digital input...

Sounds like you want a different part. That switch is for measuring pneumatic pressure; I would suggest Kamen Tote>>Gates Pack>>Microswitch.

In response the other half of your question, I/O stands for Input/Output, in this case you want digital in, so that's the one you want. PWM is Pulse Width Modulation, which is for controlling motors.

Yes, that's a digital input.
In LV it's under WPI Robotics Library -> I/O -> DigitalInput

Thanks guys :)

Well I'll ask the guys to search for it since will be making modifications to our bot in Atlanta and that is a crucial part right now!

Yeah you are just looking for a micro Switch. I took an interesting Assembly from an old garage door that had two micro switches at adjustable heights which were toggled when the door was all the way up/down.

So if you want to do a two way toggle, its a nifty design if you don't want to start from scratch.

But yeah, a microswitch which you can rip a PWM apart for wires with pinning already in.

That pressure switch uses a Digital Input on the Breakout board as previously described.

Good Luck in ATL, hopefully We will all see what the microswitch is for!
