*** See the special messages from some of our FIRST Scholarship Providers at the end of this email *** 2009 FIRST Scholarship News – April Update Greetings Teams, We hope you all had a rich and rewarding experience at the Regional Competitions you attended! We will see some of you at the Championship in Atlanta. Seniors, there are still over 20 FIRST Scholarships for which you can apply (whose application deadlines dates are in the future). But hurry up, some of those deadline dates are approaching very quickly. Be sure to check out the FIRST Scholarship web page (at www.usfirst.org/scholarships) and follow the link to the 2009 FIRST Scholarship Opportunities. You can sort the scholarship list by application deadline date by clicking on the Deadline column header. New or Changed FIRST Scholarships:
FIRST CHAMPIONSHIP -- Special Scholarship Messages Scholarship Row at the FIRST Championship -- For those of you planning your trip to Atlanta for the FIRST Championship, be sure to schedule some time to visit Scholarship Row. There will be representatives from 28 colleges, universities, and organizations there to talk to you about their programs and scholarships. (To see a list of these 28 schools/organizations, visit http://www.usfirst.org/community/frc/content.aspx?id=13000.) There are still some scholarships available to seniors. And this is a great opportunity for juniors, sophomores, and freshman who are planning for college. Bring your parents and mentors, too! Scholarship Row will be located in the Pit, near the student lounge and food area. It will be open on Thursday from 10am - 6pm and on Friday from 8am – 3pm (closed on Saturday). If you have already been offered a 2009 FIRST Scholarship, congratulations! We would like you to be recognized at the FIRST Championship for your special achievement. This requires contacting you with information about some special activities. If you have not already been contacted by FIRST about these activities, please send an email as soon as possible to Scholarships@usfirst.org to let us know about the scholarship(s) you have won (even if you don’t know if you will accept the scholarship). Please include your full name, team number, email address, and the name of the school/organization that offered you the FIRST Scholarship. Special Message from WPI for Teams going to the FIRST Championship -- WPI would like to invite FIRST team mentors and interested students to an informal reception to learn more about WPI and our degree programs in Robotics Engineering!
