And I jumped when I saw team 79 in their too haha. This is definitely Curie's year to win it all, even if 1114 and 2056 team up in Archimedes :yikes:

Who is the usual MC for Curie?

Sh... I don't know her name. The usual lady MC, Shaniqua maybe? did it last year.

I'm betting they switch Mark Leon to it though, he usually follows 254, and there was some drama with that last year I believe.

Whoever we get should be fun. I personally like Blair. =p

I am pretty sure she spent most of her time on Archimedes last year. We started out with Troy, but switched to Shaniqua (sp?) early on.

I'm pretty sure it's always been Marc Leon.
At least, I can remember him being over there at various points between 2003-2008.

[edit]Also, there's some more neat scouting data (Division strengths) over here, that you folks might want to check out.

Looks like the divisions are pretty even in terms of OPR. Einstein is going to be amazing this year!

Re: Curie 2009!

I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure that Curie has been Jeff Seaton out of NASA Langley. If so Jeff is a great MC. He often hosts Chesapeake.

But they are really all very good at the Championship.

Out of curiosity, how many teams have been on Curie for more than 1 year? If so, how many years?

I know that this year makes our 2nd year in a row on Curie.

Mark Leon does curie he has done so since atleast 2005. Typically all of the fields will get a few matches with all of the MC's as they switch around a bit during the event, but he is the main one for that field.

Another way to ask - how many of our winners were second picks?

39 Regional Winners - here is the breakdown
6- Alliance Captain 1
3- Alliance Captain 2
2- Alliance Captain 3
1- Alliance Captain 6
7- 1st picks
1- 2nd pick
1- 3rd pick
2- 4th picks
1- 5th pick
1- 12th pick
3- 13th picks
2- 14th picks
2- 15th picks
7- 16th picks

2 Teams were Multiple Winners (2 regionals):
217 Alliance Captain 1, 1st Pick
2185 16th Pick, 16th Pick

I thought 217 won 3 regionals. Twice as alliance captain and once as the first pick.
