Re: Best Teams Not In Atlanta 2009
Beachbots Drivetrain was by far one of the coolest and I will really miss Team 100. They have the sickest way of "Skinning Up" their bots.

Re: Best Teams Not In Atlanta 2009
They've been mentioned several times in this thread, but I have to mention them yet again. This year has arguably been the most successful on-field season for our team, yet I can honestly say there was one overwhelmingly disappointing moment:
When we failed to help punch 610's ticket to Atlanta at GTR. We were so close indeed! :o And no doubt they would've been an incredible addition to Canada's strongest FRC contingent ever at champs. The Crescent Coyotes are back, and stronger than ever... |
Re: Best Teams Not In Atlanta 2009
330 for sure. Their bot was so beautiful. Im glad i got to watch it in action at 2 regionals.
and 968 definitly should be going. |
Re: Best Teams Not In Atlanta 2009
I have to admit... after competing against 968 last year and seeing their robot... it would be nice to see them again...
694 as mentioned earlier is by far one of the best robots I have seen from the mid NJ/NY region and would have been nice to see them in Atlanta, definitely capable of doing some damage... |
Re: Best Teams Not In Atlanta 2009
I am so disappointing that 330 will not be attending. I was really looking forward to seeing there sudo-crab drive in person. I guess now i'll have to find a way to IRI, if they go..

That said, the MSR finals only went for two matches, but just barely. The second match was very, very close. :) |
Re: Best Teams Not In Atlanta 2009
Team 2062 (CORE) wasn't able to qualify for Atlanta this year, and while their robot didn't quite work like they hoped, they're really a quality team and I'd be willing to say the safest team in all of FIRST. They have a 5-regional streak going of UL Industrial Safety Awards (including Atlanta 2008!), and they're a very solid team all around.

Re: Best Teams Not In Atlanta 2009
:( aww what about 2081?

Re: Best Teams Not In Atlanta 2009
Going to add another vote for 910 but I really hope to see them at Kettering and WMRI again this year. Maybe play WITH them instead of against them at both events again.

Re: Best Teams Not In Atlanta 2009
I think alot of the great teams have been mentioned but 1280 and 103 are some of the best teams not in Atlanta. Losing to 1280 (in 4 matches in the Seattle semi-finals) and 103 (Florida quarterfinals) and witnessing first-hand how these robots can tear it up makes me believe they are among the best robots in all of FIRST this year.
103 went through two regional qualifying's undefeated, was a semi-finalist twice and finalist. They could pick up balls with ease and dump with great accuracy. 1280 was a monster in that it could hold so many balls and score all of them so quickly. The elevator design was purely genious. |
Re: Best Teams Not In Atlanta 2009
When I was looking at 330's TBA page and saw they were not going to Atlanta I had to go double check to make sure everything was working right...
A big surprise indeed. |
Re: Best Teams Not In Atlanta 2009
1939- Another of the spiral loaded shooters with an amazing fire rate.
1158- a very solid dumping robot with a twist 525- Not nesscarly the best robot, but one of my favorite teams 269- solid dumping robot with an outstanding human player |
Re: Best Teams Not In Atlanta 2009
1279 had a solid scoring machine this year and it was well driven they were solid at dc and philly. its a shame that cold fusion wont be going they are a strong team.
1280 i didn't know what their robot was but after all the great reviews on this thread i took a look. their design is excellent and its a shame it wont be shown in atlanta. |

I'm disappointed too, but oh well. We've been every year since 1998, when regional attendance was optional and there wasn't one closer than about the Midwest anyway... I'm going to second 1388 as a good robot that isn't making it. They were dangerous (that's a nice way to put it). |
