Re: 3091, needs your prayer.
I'll be praying as will the rest of the Panthertech members! Just make sure he gets on the nurses good side... and he will be treated like a king! :) Glad to hear that he's awake and talking. As someone who spends time working in an ICU, that's something we always like to hear. :)

Re: 3091, needs your prayer.
Prayers sent for Kenny's recovery and to his friends, family, and community that is looking out for him.
Get well soon, buddy, you still have robots to build. |
Re: 3091, needs your prayer.
Kenny has been moved out of ICU! The prayers must be working.
He is still in the hospital but is stable, one of our team parents is going to visit with him today and we will update again after the visit. The team mentor is aware of the thread and is consistently sharing the posts with Kenny and the family. Keep the prayers coming. |
Re: 3091, needs your prayer.
From all of Team 341, please give Kenny our most heartfelt prayers.
We, too, went down this unfortunate path a couple of years ago when one of our alumni and mentors was hit by a car when riding his bicycle. Although he was in a coma for several days, I am happy to say that Doug made a full recovery, and I am cautiously optimistic that the most recent post indicates that Kenny will too! Luckily those of us with FIRST in our blood just don't go down without a fight! |

Re: 3091, needs your prayer.
I just came home from a visit with Kenny in the hospital. He is out of ICU and in his own room and is looking very well and strong. I brought him a card signed by the CircuitRunners, a HexBug, and a printout from this thread. His was alert and appreciated everyone's thoughts, prayers, and well wishes. I told him that he was part of the family and that we were all in this together and he loved hearing that. His mother was very moved as well with everyone's prayers as well. His team visited him yesterday after they were with the Georgia Governor for a bill signing ceremony (see http://photos.gov.georgia.gov/galler...18482693_MX5dd) that gave raises to math and science teachers. He also had a picture of he and his teammate getting their Rookie All Star award from Dean and Woodie right above his bed.
Please keep the well wishes coming. He's not completely out of the woods, but is well on the road to recovery. Thank you, |

Re: 3091, needs your prayer.
A couple of team members and I went to visit him Friday evening. Due to a slight mixup we missed him by about 2 minutes. He checked out and went home for a couple of weeks of home care.
I talked to his mom on Saturday and he is progressing well. He is having trouble with his eyesight in his left eye as of Saturday but it may improve. Part of the skull was removed to allow space for the brain swelling. In a few weeks he will return to have one or two more surgeries to reinstall the bone. So it will be awhile for all this to play out. |
Re: 3091, needs your prayer.
Its good to hear that kenny is out and about!
Team Ninja MUNKEE's will still be praying that his future surgeries go well! |
