Hmm they could give the VIPs video of the matches but for the actual participants in the pits it wasn't worth it?

If I remember correctly, it is trivial for the production company to hook into the feed in the dome. Those feeds across the dome are all linked. But that same feed does not go back to the GWCC. Also, the cost is minimal because all the monitors exist and are in place. It's more or less a cable connection (maybe I'm oversimplfying). The GWCC involves renting rigging, projectors, and screens as well as cost to assemble/disassemble and provide a feed.

If you hop on the wrong elevator & don't know your floor, you got dropped off there. HA!
Yeahh... :ahh:

Also, call me crazy, but the best VIP experience is to be on the field during matches, and not hiding on the 4th floor of the GA Dome with not as much as a window out to see the fields.

But then again, the seats there are nicer than the ones near the fields, so take it for what it's worth I guess.

The GWCC had no problem rigging up screens to display wins and losses. I don't see how it'd be much harder to pop down two more of those double sided doohickeys.

But wow, that's the coolest place I've ever seen.

It looks kind of 80's disco to me. My favorite things are the orbit balls laying around to play with! ;)

I had my fill of being down at field level earlier in the competition. After a day on my feet and having just finished packing up our pit, I was more than content to sit and do this:

Nice. Quiet. Peaceful. Comfortable. Although I must admit that what appears on the TV's may qualify as "Copioli Overload". :)

And yes, I was qualified to be up there.

And it only took them like 22 tries to get that little bit of video...all Paul's fault I'm sure...

There's a reason why VIP's get first dibbs on videos of matches.......they are the ones supporting FIRST to make it all happen.

I think I want to be a VIP when I grow up...
Actually, as comfortable as that looks, I'd rather be on the field. It's part of the experience for me. ::safety::

It's at least as comfortable for volunteers acting as VIP guides. ;)

Although cool, this photo completely misses the best part of the VIP lounge - The VIPs!

I met some very interesting people there this year. I got to eat with the founder of Java, the founder of Luminary Micro, and the co-founder of NI. Do I get some sort of founder finder award?
