Probably will have little impact on FRC but it is interesting news for those who follow embedded technology.

The real question on such a merger is "Are they simply buying market share or a product?" If buying market share, for example to try an leverage Windows CE or similar into Wind River customer base, then wait for the other shoe to drop in about 6-9 months after the buyout completes.
