Team A vs Team B (Read First Post)

It's battle of the teams.
____________________________________

Rules:
Your team is determined by the first letter of your username.

If your username starts with the letter A C E G I K M O Q S U V W (or numbers) you belong to Team A

If your username starts with the letter B D F H J L N P R T X Y Z (or symbols) you belong to Team B

Each time a Team A member posts, they will add 5 to our count and each time a Team B member posts, they will subtract 5 from our count.
  1. If the count reaches 1000 Team A wins
  2. If the count reaches 0 Team B wins
  3. Each time a team scores, the game restarts at 500
  4. If/when a team scores, send me a PM! that way I can update the scores

500.

Also, the Games forum has a timeout mechanism to keep you from posting in rapid succession in a thread. (Or maybe in the forum, I don't remember.)

Re: Team A vs Team B

I am not fond of the idea of a double day, but I think there should be a rule of one post per standard page (15 posts) and at least two posts between each of yours (so you can't post at the bottom of a page and top of the next one.)

read the first post before posting (In Soviet Russia first post reads you)

Re: Team A vs Team B

I think the CD Games/Trivia forum time limit (however long it is) is quite long enough. That and a proposed 2-person limit in between your own posts should do the trick between them.

Oh, and read the first post before playing. You do want to know what team you're on, don't you?

Travis Hoffman 15-06-2009 15:16

Re: Team A vs Team B

485.

Maybe you can install an accelerated increment/decrement table with the values ratcheting up as you get closer to the score?

+/- 5: 400-600
+/- 10: 300-390, 610-700
+/- 20: 100-280, 720-900
+/- 50: 0-50, 950-1000

Or better yet, invert this table to get closer to the "scoring danger zone" faster, where the battles would be more "exciting".

Read the 1st post, or else.....

Molten 15-06-2009 16:24

Re: Team A vs Team B

490

This is a cool idea. I just think it is going to take 5 years for anyone to score. At that point most of the people who were here to start the game, won't be here. Perhaps thats the point... Not sure, I just think it should be feasible for a team to score every month or two.

NorviewsVeteran 15-06-2009 16:34

Re: Team A vs Team B

$*% (485)

I'm thinking maybe in the off season the scale should go 400-600. Its like a tug of war on a football field right now.

Of course, I only say this because my team is winning. As soon as it hits 500, we should keep it 0-1000!;)

Just for kicks, I have computed the probable number of posts until we yield a winner to this game (assuming an equal number of team A and team B players, an assumption which is most likely false to some degree). Note: This was before the additional rules were added.

Spoiler: Don't hold your breath.

By my tally we should be at 470.(Feel free to check my math. Not sure how it went this long without anybody noticing it.)

Some how we jumped 50 points between page 3 and page 4. Also, somebody posted a 10 point change instead of 5.

So, for my post I am making it:
