I told you guys that 47 for 19 points was a MASSIVE steal. They are absolutely awesome. I'm really happy with all my picks, actually. They're all doing pretty well. Once we get to eliminations I suspect stuff will happen.

I'll try to score it this week, expect it up by Wednesday probably. If I had to bet, I would think XaulZan or Chris is Me probably won.

Darn, I thought I had a good chance with 5 of my 6 teams making the eliminations (the most by anyone). Congrats to Chris!

Jack, could you post the scoring that you used? I'm doing a season long fantasy FIRST (similar to football where you keep teams throughout the year and choose which ones to start) with some people on my team and working on a fair scoring system for robot preformance only.

I don't really know the scoring system but I bet I got lucky with a lot of the awards. 1771 getting a Judge's Award, 47 getting Best Scoring Robot, and 461 getting one on top of 1625 winning probably gave me a huge boost. I didn't pick based on awards.

You live for the small victories, don't you?

Just a little food for thought for a moment...

With the depth of the field in so many different areas besides and alongside of the robot competition - it would have given you all a run for your money and an excellent use of your time to think about all of the teams involved in IRI 2009 and what they each brought to the table. It was a cornucopia of talent, expertise, passion, knowledge, commitment, inspiration, attitude, and teamwork. Given the times and realities that we are living in, the teams and everything that they believe in and stand for, made IRI even more significant and powerful in 2009.

Jane, its alot harder to pinpoint a team which will get a certain award such as the imagery award and so on, than it is to pick out teams you know will perform on the field well. As such it is typically an intelligent choice to pick by robot capability for a small mini competition FF based around such.

Yup.

And, congratulations to you and the team on a job well done.

My best ever finish in a FRC fantasy league. I would really like to see how the scoring went, Jack and I have a history together and .........

Actually, scoring was not based on awards--only on the field preformance. But I do agree that trying to predict awards winners (especially in such a deep field where nearly every team is deserving) is very difficult.
