The odds are slim. It's been years since anyone volunteered, and I don't think it's ever happened.

I'd like to see it too, though.

Unfortunately, there is no internet (wireless or wired) available in the main gymnasium.

2009 SCRRF Fall Classic Team List (Sept. 10)

These ten teams are officially registered via RobotEvents.com:
399 Eagle Robotics
702 Bagel Bytes
968 RAWC
973 Greyhound Revolutionary Robotics*
980 ThunderBots
1070 Royal Robotrons
1160 Firebird Robotics
1197 TorBots
2404 Team NEY Techs
2493 RoboKong

* Will bring a second robot for use by pre-rookie teams
Five additional teams have indicated their intention to register, which will match the attendance for the 2008 Fall Classic. The event capacity is 32 teams, so half of the slots are open one week before the event.

Most of the schools in SoCal just opened this week, so we expect more teams will sign up. (Most of the teams registered in the past week.)

My apologies, I confused your team's name with Team 701's.

We definitely miss you in that position Brad. We have several new drivers being trained at the moment and they will be making their debut at the Fall Classic.

David,

Can we get a current team list?

Here's the current list of teams registered:

330 BeachBots*
399 Eagle Robotics
702 Bagel Bytes
968 RAWC
973 Greyhound Revolutionary Robotics*
980 ThunderBots
1070 Royal Robotrons
1160 Firebird Robotics
1197 TorBots
1538 HolyCows
2404 Team NEY Techs
2493 RoboKong

*Planning to bring two robots for pre-rookie and additional drive team practice

Some very good teams are coming and there are still a couple of teams that have expressed interest, but not yet registered at RobotEvents.

With this smaller field of teams, we may experiment with 2 robots vs. 2 robots in practice matches early Sat. morning. (We'll still have three payload specialists on each alliance, no "dead" trailers, though). If we do this, we will transition to 3 vs 3 qualification matches in late morning into early afternoon. The elimination rounds will be semifinals and finals (just like last year).

Where does the third HP come from in the 2v2 matches? Do you set up 3 team alliances and let the alliance pick who's robot will sit?

Lottery? ;)

Actually, TBD. Some teams may bring robots that need a little work before hitting the field - their P/L specialists can offer their services. Most likely practice matches will be "scheduled" for 2v2, so the alliances can decide the 3rd HP amongst themselves: "Anyone seen Mark Maher (Robowranglers) since IRI?"
