Volcanic eruption viewed from ISS
 
On June 12, the International Space Station orbited over the Kuril islands just after a major eruption occurred. For more information, check out the NASA Earth Observatory Image of the Day for June 22.

The image and video is spectacular and has vulcanologists debating some of the phenomena observed. I just think it's cool... :cool:
