3 axis gyro input for inventor

I had an idea to use a 3 axis gyro and connect it to the computer maybe through an arduino to control objects in Inventor, Does anyone have an idea if this is possible to input this into Inventor.

I've used a 3d mouse but i wanted to try to make this and see how it acts.

I only see one issue with using a 3axis gyro I think you would need and accelerator or some other sensor because the gyro would do rotating but not panning like a real space mouse
