Our First Smart Move Worksheets Are Up. Really!

Our First Smart Move Worksheets Are Up. Really!

We created our first worksheets for the 2009-2010 SMART MOVE Challenge.

Of course we don't have the details, but you can get your team brainstorming the possibilities. Follow this link for the worksheets and more:

Usually in FRC and FTC there is speculation on what the game will be. So now that the FLL mat has been revealed, what do you think the game will be? Here are some thoughts:

There will be a wall to the north of base, and two more on the SE area.

There will be objects similar to the corn and uranium of 2007 that have to be moved. These are placed on the colored dots.

There will be objects that need to remain standing at the end of the round for points. This will require the students to try to eliminate rouge robots running around the table. These will be placed on the black dots, and possibly the lines in the NE corner.

Just some thoughts. Also, is there a secret message on the mat?

Although I am not at liberty to say what the game actually is, I am allowed to tell teams that it will be (supposed to be) harder than Climate Connections. That is all :D It looks to finally be more challenging and more fun for the kids.

Well I have to say this year's Smart Move Challenge is definitely more FUN and UNDERSTANDABLE than last year's Climate Connections. Overall though, in my opinion, the challenge is the same, if not easier than past challenges.

HARDER?!!:ahh: That's scary! I am hoping that at least the project will be a little more cut and dry. The vague topics are very hard to get the younger kids to understand.

As far as the mat, I have Mr. Drake to help me with that. :) :P

Marco,
I like the practice mats you developed. Everyone involved with FLL needs to check them out. We're doing a Lego camp this year, and the mat would be a good addition for future years. This year I'm just going to create my own obstacles and lines. I like the stuff you guys do at TechBrick, keep it up.:D :]

I looks like it will be good!

Although the arrows are giving me a headache!

Hope to be able to start my own team this year so it looks like it will be a good year to start.
