VEX and Backup Battery Connector Specs

Does anyone know the ORIGINAL vendors and part number for BOTH sides of BOTH the VEX 7.2V battery,
AND the old style 7.2V IFI RC backup battery?
(eg: the part numbers from Molex, AMP, or wherever they came from...)

I'm seeking
(a) the original Manufacturer (Vendor - eg Molex, AMP, etc.)
(b) their HOUSING part number, and
(c) their PIN part number

for the following connectors:

(1) The VEX Battery connector (battery side - inline/cable style)
(2) The VEX Battery connector MATE (inline/cable style, to tie a wire to a VEX batt...)
(3) The VEX Battery PCB Connector MATE (PCB version, like on VEX chargers)

and

(4) The 7.2v IFI Backup Battery connector (battery side - inline/cable style)
(5) The 7.2v IFI Backup Battery connector MATE (inline/cable side, ala IFI RC harness)
(6) The 7.2v IFI Backup Battery connector MATE (PCB version, to MAKE a new charger PCB)

Can any of the Radio Control Car nuts or EE mentors here recognize these connectors, and help me come up with the full part number sets? (Any partial knowledge, of ANY of these connectors would help advance this valuable table of data.)

( Simply knowing the Digikey part numbers for each of them also works for me... :D )

Thanks!
- Keith

this is the vex connector pair.
never needed the backup battery connector, since we destroyed so many chargers that we always had spare connectors!!!:)

Thanks, but that's still a reseller, with their markup...

Does anyone have the ORIGINAL vendor and part numbers for these?

(IOW, I'm looking for the mfg part numbers, like AMP, MOLEX, or whomsoever MAKES those parts...)

Thanks!

Re: VEX and Backup Battery Connector Specs

I'm reasonably confident that the Vex pair is (or at least, is highly compatible with) Digikey parts WM2308-ND, WM2309-ND, WM2310-ND, and WM2311-ND. The Molex part numbers are available on the Digikey pages. I found this by researching a more common name for the part, which is the "Tamiya connector".

Re: VEX and Backup Battery Connector Specs

Maybe I can help a little.

The connectors for the VEX robotics platform are no different than any regular remote control vehicle you buy for children. RadioShack has them (overpriced like everything there). I don't believe there are any specific OEM parts you can buy for them. The connectors are pretty universal and I have a couple laying around in my tool box.

7.2V version
9.6V version

The only difference between those is the wire gauge. You can slip the 9.6V one into the 7.2V one without any problems.

As for the PCB version, Mouser and Digikey are your best bets.

Sorry if I was no help, but it seemed like you may not have known that.

Re: VEX and Backup Battery Connector Specs

Was anyone able to find a board-mount (PCB) version of these Tamiya connectors? I've been able to find something that's the gender of the connector on the battery, but I need the opposite of that. I'd like to be able to plug the battery into a board.

I feel like this should be out there somewhere. This is a super-common battery connector, but I can't seem to find the board-mount version anywhere!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
