How to find an FLL team?

Some one was asking me how to find an FLL team in our area. I tried looking for a list on the usfirst.org site but I was only able to get events. Is there another spot I should be looking? Or is there just no publicly available list?

Thanks,

Re: How to find an FLL team?

I asked the coordinator for FLL in Washington state and his response was

Quote:

We do get a number of requests for joining students with teams. Unfortunately, FLL teams are not formed like recreation sports teams where students are assigned to coaches. We are not setup to build teams this way yet for logistic and safety reasons. Further, coach data are confidential so we cannot share them publicly. It is very much part of our plan to figure out a way to do this and we are in active discussions with FIRST about it.

Until then we are counting on coaches with space on their teams to review requests that come into the WAFLL forum and work with the parents individually on joining students with teams.
In FIRST's What's In My Area feature, the suggestion is given "To find teams in your region or around the globe, please visit the FLL Forums." There's a subforum called "Finding Others Interested in FLL," but I'm not sure how many coaches actually frequent the forums.

So mostly, in addition to any response you might receive on Chief Delphi of suggestions more specific to your area, I would encourage you (or your associate) to contact your FIRST Regional Contact for more information.

FLL team information is not readily available to other teams as is the case for FRC teams. (At least I don't think it's readily available; if it is, somebody else please let us know how.)

In New Hampshire, the best way to find out about other FLL teams is to contact the appropriate person at the state partner, which is Kerry Creeden or Chris Palie at BAE Systems. You can find their contact information at the bottom of the following web page: http://baesystemsfirst.org/lego/
