We received this award, funnily enough a chunk of the crew was at the practice field still tweaking the bot and was notified later.

I'm quite happy with the turnaround our team had from missing all practice matches and a very rough start friday morning to ending as Finalists by 2 points.

Congrats to the victors, you guys earned it

I'm also proud of everyone on our teams mentality after the finals loss of "what did we learn from this, and how are we going to fix it."
Midwest will be fun, though people may not visually see our robot thursday through a blob of people :p

(back to school mode for a week bleh)

The KC Star had a picture in the paper Friday from the regional, and said to check online for more. I was surprised to find that they had 173 pictures in one place.... er, make that two galleries.

The regional was also featured on:
FOX4
KMBC

Ha ha, yeah. You guys confused the crap out of me a few times when they said your team XD. 2334, 2335, 234 :D

The KC Regional was amazing this year, even though we were low-seeded (We didn't really completely understand the coopertition thing until towards the end  ) Breakaway was very interesting to watch this year. (As compared to Lunacy, which was a member on our team put it "It was like watching paint drive around in circles")

Congrats to all the teams at the KC Regional.

As a member of the regional planning committee we work hard to try to make this an enjoyable event and hope everyone enjoyed the event and the venue this year. It was great to have so many teams travel so far to participate in KC. We appreciate any comments that you might have to make the event even better. Please send comments to my e-mail account. I would also like to congratulate all the teams, with 59 competing and finishing close to on time that was great.

We have learned today that after reviewing field data, team 1986 and 525 experienced a communication conflict (I assume an IP address overlap) during qual. match #60, causing 1986 to be nearly inoperable and 525 entirely dead. No way of knowing how that effected the overall outcome, but in that match two of the most prolific scorers in the tournament lost by a score of 0-1. No hard feelings, the system is complex, it was week 1, and stuff happens. It might have somehow even been our own fault. Just wanted folks to know that we aren't in the habit of sitting still during matches.

I'd like to add my thoughts to those that Rex posted. Thanks to all the teams who participated in KC. I am grateful for your great attitudes and willingness to go with the flow as we worked out the kinks this first weekend of competition! As your queuer, I was able to witness so many examples of Gracious Professionalism, and only a very few examples of ungracious behavior the whole weekend. Please share any suggestions for improving your experience at our event, and thanks again for attending. Congratulations to all teams and good luck the rest of the season!

For those attending Dallas, we'll see you there as well! :)

Thank you to everyone for making the Greater Kansas City 2010 Regional a success.

I am the teacher/sponsor and also act as coach. I saw many examples of Gracious Professionalism on the field, in the pits, at the practice field, in the stands, and outside tailgating for lunch.

The greater Kansas City area has been a great fit for FIRST robotics, and also the other way around.

525 had 3 qualifying matches where we had no communication and therefore no motion. Same as 1986, we would never just sit there - that's not what we were there for.

He is right on that one. 525 definitely does not just sit around.

Cyber Blue had an awesome time at KC.

Great teams, a great venue, pancake social, robotic judges and more.

Thanks to the regional team for putting on such a great weekend.

:)
