CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #276
Careful, this round might give you a case of mad cow.
Here are the scores after the last round: Code:
Ryan Simpson 46http://www.chiefdelphi.com/media/photos/20091 As always, the deadline is sorta kinda theoretically Saturday at midnight Eastern. I'll be at TNT this weekend, and in-person submissions will be welcome with two minor caveats: 1) Written submissions are preferred. (My mind is not something to trust to remember creative wordplay unless it's especially potent.) 2) If you wake me up to deliver yours, just go ahead and expect negative infinity. Go! |
Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #276

Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #276
Person 1: Why did we make this?
person 2: So rtfgnow can point out to Billfred that he has influence on where Billfred sleeps and can make it uncomfortable without breaking the OTHER Heidi Foster Rule. everyone: ahhhh |
Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #276
In a deepish sort of voice- (one person) Hey check it out.... we made it pick up three tetras... pretty cool huh. And it has diamond plate. But we don't know if it works.... just a side note.
(second person) SWEEEEEEEET!!! |
Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #276
Its looks like they are getting ready for the new game. I had no idea the new game was a mix of Stack Attack and Triple Play. O__o

Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #276
January 2005: team 276 opens a fast-food restaurant as a spin-off of Domino's with an innovative slogan:
"Tetras. You've got two minutes." December 2007: Domino's introduces a new ad campaign with their new slogan, "You've got 30." October 2009: Team 276 sues Domino's for copying their slogan. |
Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #276
Sure, anybody could lift three tetras, but snagging four robot builders at the same time will definitely get you a Innovation award
|
Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #276
"How does it run - 12V battery?"
"Naw, MULLET POWER!" |
Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #276
Though three tetras look really heavy, they only plan on competing in Canada where, due to the use of the metric system, the load will be much lighter.
|
Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #276
You seldom see this much dedication in a team. They even redesigned the windows so the triangular light patterns complement the tetras.
|
Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #276
Those are some really ugly diamonds.
|
Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #276
Would you look at the pipes on that thing! They're huge! It is really pumping PVC!
|
Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #276
Promotional shoot:
The lesson: Tread softly, carry a big stick. The motto: Stack it like you mean it. The men: Trouble. Photographer: Why do you say that, guys? Wait, you did say the robot was off right? Right? *runs*... I hope they are the only robotic nerds around, many more and it could get downright crazy. *keeps on running* |
Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #276
Teammates: "Look, we finished the robot and it is able to pick up three Tetras"
Mentor: "That's great, but there is only one problem." Teammates: "What's that?" Mentor: "This year's game we have to shoot 40" trackballs." Teammates: "Do'h!!!." |
Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #276

4 geeks, 3 tetras, 2 weeks before ship, and a robot walker, rotary.

Re: CD's Unofficial Caption Contest #276
Robot:
"I've got to look good for the camera so the team's head coach doesn't put me out out to pasture in his front yard like he did my older brother." P.S. - one of the older, LARGER rotary walker robots is indeed sitting in his yard - the one known for climbing other robots P.P.S - the room in this picture no longer exists - that's the old small gym at Harding before they built the new building. 276 was a regular visitor to 48's facilities back then. |
