Well that's no good :(

As someone whose FIRST experience has been restricted to FiM i'm unfamiliar what the rates are for signing up for regionals, and totally in the dark about any additional rates or fees teams outside the U.S. might have to pay.

How much money are you looking to raise?

The entry fees were US $6000 last year; US $5000 this year (rookies $5500) due to the KOP changes.

This does not include customs fees, shipping the KOP to Brazil or Chile or your preferred country, shipping the robot to the U.S. (or your country of choice) to compete, transporting the team internationally, arranging for extra batteries and tools to cut down on the costs of the above, and the various other travel expenses for both the robot and the team.

Re: Help !

I know this isn't what you probably care to hear. But perhaps you could find a cheaper robotics competition. I know 1766 has had years with tight budgets that we've considered it. If we were to ever run out of funds, that's probably what we'd do. I'm not sure if there are any in South America, but I know there are several of them up here. If your set on staying with FIRST, perhaps switching to FTC might help you get through a few years until the funds reappear.

My only other suggestion is trying to get FIRST to give a possible discount to teams out of the country.

Hope that helps a bit,
Jason
