Can't run BuiltInDefaultCode out of the box?

Hello!

I just got my cRIO talking to NetBeans, Cool!

I created the project BuiltInDefaultCode from the sample file, and simply hit Run!

It connects, but errors out. Here is the log:

Re: Can't run BuiltInDefaultCode out of the box?

P.S. I just tried the EnhancedIO (something like that) and it runs fine :)

Just wondering what the problem with that original sample file is

Not sure what the enhanced IO has to do with this? Did you try a different program and it ran ok?

As for the error you got, I think Brad will be best equiped to answer that. Lets see what he says.

Sorry I didn't make myself clear. EnhancedIOSomethingorother is the name of one of the other sample programs, which runs fine. I can't remember the name of it exactly.

Just wanted to bring this to Brad/The WPIlib team's attention.

Thanks finding this, it was an issue on our end and should be fixed in the NetBeans update that I just posted.

Re: Can't run BuiltInDefaultCode out of the box?

After you install the WPI FRC Java plugins, you can just go File -> New Project -> Samples -> FRC Java

There are 5 samples there I believe.

If you need help instalilng the FRC Java plugins, you can look here:

If you set the update site to:
http://first.wpi.edu/FRC/java/netbea...te/updates.xml

you should be seeing update notifications when you start NetBeans. You can set the "Check Interval" to be every time NetBeans starts to get more timely notification.

Got it.

On a side note, Brad, would you recommend hooking the Classmate to the internet ever? So far I haven't hooked ours up, for fear of junking it up, and so far have only moved files and updates over via USB. I'm considering removing AVG altogether and never connecting it to the web.

On the right when you first open the new project dialog are some, but if you open the samples folder and then the FRC Java folder, there should be some more there?

Isn't that a very old update link? I think it should be http://first.wpi.edu/FRC/java/netbea...te/updates.xml

Joe -

Thanks for catching that... you are correct!

To fast on the cutting and pasting. The updates are now at the top level, especially since we added version checking on downloads.

Are you having problems with AVG? I wouldn't recommend removing anti-virus on the belief that you're safe if not connected to the internet. Viruses can be transmitted by USB drives as well. We've had that happen already. No anti-virus software is perfect, but some protection is better than none.
