YOU Predict the Average Match Score of 2010's Week 1 Regionals

That's right. Include a breakdown, point-by-point, ball-by-ball, or just a number. Mostly, this thread is so we can look back in seven weeks and realize how terribly wrong we were.

For your perusing pleasure, here's last years thread: YOU Predict the Average Match Score of 2009's Week 1 Regionals
[Using TBA's scores for week one of 2009, the average score (including elimination rounds) was 52.343, the standard deviation was 20.946]
[Using TBA's scores for week one of 2009, the average score (without elimination rounds) was 49.981, the standard deviation was 20.420]

I'll post mine when I figure it out, I've still got to digest this year's rules. :)

The Average winning score for week 1-3 regional qualfiction matches will be 8.
The Average winning score for Championship elimination matches will be 14.

The average for other matches will be inside that range.

The average score for week 1 qualification matches will be 5.

The average score for the elimination matches will be 10.

The highest score, I believe can easily be 20.

A little early for this thread, eh? Oh well.

Week 1 qualifyers will be an average of 9.

Week 1 Elims will be an average of 11.

Week one finals matches will be a score of 15-12

Highest score of Week 1 is going to be 21.

i think the scoring might be higher than you think right now.
i am predicting closer to 20 points a game.

once you get a system going of recycling the balls between the robots, you could see some high scores

Re: YOU Predict the Average Match Score of 2010's Week 1 Regionals

The average score in week one qualifiers will be 4, but with a fairly high standard deviation. Winning scores will average 7-8.

In eliminations, winning scores will average 12-14

The winning championship alliance will constantly be scoring at least 18 (about 60% of this coming in autonomous, and through the endgame)

Re: YOU Predict the Average Match Score of 2010's Week 1 Regionals

I guessed 45 for 2009 :D

Average for week one regionals = 7

There will be a large standard deviation. I expect to see several zero scores.

Average scores will be in the 5-7 range, with winning being in 8-10 for the first weeks.

After the first week(s), I expect both ranges to increase by one or two points on the high and low ends.

Championships, I expect average scores to be in 10-12, and winning to be 16-18.

Re: YOU Predict the Average Match Score of 2010's Week 1 Regionals

Looking at everything that has been posted in the last few days regarding various strategies, this is what I think will happen.

I believe that teams will be capable of scoring between 5-7 balls in the two minute driver controlled segment.

Week 1 Qualifiers should look something like this

Median Score: 6-5 (balls only) + 1 hanging bot for each team = 8-7

High Score: 11-10 (balls only) + 2 hanging bot for winner & 1 for loser = 15-12

Barring any penalties median score of 22-14

Barring any penalties high score = 39-24

For the Elims, due to the Win, Lose, or tie changes, I can see a well made alliance scoring in to the low 30's with a combination of ball control and double and maybe triple hanging.

Re: YOU Predict the Average Match Score of 2010's Week 1 Regionals

Week 1 average 8 points for Quals
Week 1 high scores 20 points for Quals
Week 1 average 12 points for Elims
Week 1 high scores 18 points for Elims

Expect to see teams still trying to blow other teams away in Quals

Week 2 and on
Average 10 points for Quals
High scores 18 points for Quals
Average 14 points for Elims
High scores 20 points for Elims

Don't expect to see teams trying to blow other teams away in Quals, and will see how coopertition bonus fits within the scoring strategy.

I think that the overall average winning score will be 15-20
and the national high score for all competitions will be 49

Im guessing an average winning score for the first round of qualification matches of about 10, and about 20 in the elimination matches.

Re: YOU Predict the Average Match Score of 2010's Week 1 Regionals

Week 1 - average score of 4-6, top tier teams will have matches that stick around the 10-12 range in quals, exceptional elim matches will get up to 16 or so

Other weeks: Average score of 5-7, top tier sticks around the same 10-12 range in quals, elims 15-17

Champs: Average score of 6-8, loaded quals will get up to 15, elims will have machines that get to 20

I predict we will see far more scores of 0 than we will 20+.

Agreed. Especially in the first week or two, a lot of teams might struggle just to score the balls.
