Free Bimba Parts
I decided this was worth highlighting, since the pneumatics manual is late in coming out and there is a time limit for some teams.
The offer probably expires after ship day, but it doesn't say. You can order your team's free Bimba actuators here: http://www.bimba.com/FirstFree.aspx Your Team Leader should place the order. Limit: (3) Total Cylinders/Actuators (Example: (2) Cylinders and (1) Rotary Actuator) SPECIAL NOTE: ALL international orders must be received at BIMBA by 11:59pm on February 1, 2010 . |
Re: Free Bimba Parts
I was about to also post about this website, I do beleive that the shipping is free also, I have not placed our order yet, and cannot until our mentor comes back. If it is completly free shipping (which would be awesome ::safety:: ) then I will let the forum know :)

Re: Free Bimba Parts
It includes free shipping too.
Bimba is really nice to us :) |
Re: Free Bimba Parts
Are they still doing this? I sent the link to my team facilitator, but he said that the deal was a year old and that they may not still be doing it.

Re: Free Bimba Parts
This thread is a year old, but the Bimba offer is now for the 2011 season.
You can get to the same place by browsing to the Bimba home page and clicking on the FIRST logo. It's also referenced in this year's Pneumatics Manual. |
Re: Free Bimba Parts
I do not see any options for rotary actuators on the site. Any guidance would be helpful.

May I ask what you are planning on using them for? |
Re: Free Bimba Parts
Hi, does anyone know the exact configuration of these cylinders? I know the bore and stroke, but there's no information on the order form regarding single or double action, bumpers end cap styles, etc. I want to get a CAD model into our design, but I have no idea which one to download?

Re: Free Bimba Parts
In general the pistons we have recieved free have been double acting (DP) from the Original Line, with the standard pin mount on the rear from their catalog... the CAD models are all availible for this line.
