Define: active ball control
According to Rule <G45> Robots may not control ball direction with active mechanisms above the bumper zone.
My team was tossing around the idea to have a plate that was raised with a pneumatic cylinder to block incoming shots but still allow us to move through the tunnels. My question is even if the plate was currently static would that violate this rule?:confused: :confused: :confused: |

Certainly this is a question for the GDC. My opinion here is completely worthless at competition.
An active plate that blocks shots would be illegal if it was above the bumper zone. A passive plate ("static") probably wouldn't. Key word is "Active". Quote:
