Labview 8.6: Xbox 360 wired controller Questions

Hi
I was wondering if LabVIEW 8.6 can use a usb xbox 360 controller for the driver station or would a gamepad be ideal to use.

any help would be fine.

thanks

Some teams have already demonstrated using an Xbox controller, with the appropriate driver loaded.

"Ideal" depends on personal preference and on what you need it to do.

The 360 controller works really well with Labview (in XP and Vista)...

You can bring it in using the built in joystick handling in Labview. From there you can pick what buttons and thumb sticks you want to use and scale the analog portions to suit the inputs of the drive VI's using basic math and logic.

Make sure you handle the dead zones (non-zero when released) on the analog thumb sticks or you you will find your robot wandering inadvertently...
