calculating force transferred across a fulcrum

Hello, I was wondering how you would calculate the force transferred across a fulcrum. If you were to have tension applied to one side, and then suddenly released it, how much force would be transferred to the other side of the fulcrum. All I need is the formula.

Thanks,

Mitch Guzman

Re: calculating force transferred across a fulcrum

It's just the standard torque calculation.

Force1xDistance from Fulcrum1=Force2xDistance from Fulcrum2

If you're using a spring, you have to calculate how much force it's exerting.
