Robotic Curriculum

Hi all FIRST teams,

To assist your team with your robot design and mobility around the field, PTC has released a new robotics curriculum. The new curriculum will provide your team with the background information, knowledge and understanding needed to use Pro/ENGINEER to design, assemble and simulate a virtual robot. While the context used is based on the FIRST Tech Challenge competition, teams entering other robotics competitions; including FIRST Robotics Challenge should also find the exercises useful.

Topics covered:
  • Stability and Structures
  • Electronic Motors
  • Mechanisms
  • Movement and Control
  • System and Controls
  • Detailed Drawings
  • Rendering
The curriculum is located on the FIRST Getting Started Page, under the Resources for FIRST Teams section – www.ptc.com/go/firstgettingstarted. You will also find the models in ISO and ANSI formats that can be downloaded.

Regards,
Mark
