Hello FRIST, What's the scoring in automonous mode
 

Hey gang, Did I miss something or what? Is there any bonus points in autonomous mode scoring? And scoring in general? What points are taken away with a red card? or with a yellow card?

Read the rules.


Sorry was annoyed. There are no additional points for autonomous. The cards just prevent you from playing the game, and do not take away points unlike penalties. Don't quote me on the cards, I would suggest reading the rules for that one. The rules on them are pretty clear, i just have a bad memory.

There is no point bonus for scoring in autonomous. But there is a strategic bonus to shooting the balls into your goals. No points are taken away with a red card, but you are disqualified. The amount of points taken away with a yellow card depends on the offense that you commit.

Please consult the manual next time. That just took me 5 minutes to find. I believe that you wasted more time posting this than you would if you just looked through the rules.

Yellow and Red cards don't assign any penalties only disqualification, but can be specified to incorporate a penalty depending on the rule you violate. There is no difference this year to autonomous scoring and teleoperated scoring, every ball scored in your goal is worth one point for your alliance. In the end game being ELEVATED awards 2 points and SUSPENDED 3 points.

The attatched file is something I drew up at the beginning of the season it lists all of the game rule violations that can result in penalties, yellow and red cards, disqualification, disablement, ect. Hope it helps

I don't think that was rude. Perhaps mentioning which sections of the rules would have softened it a little, but overall good advice.

If someone hasn't read the scoring rules at this point in time, especially since most of the requested terms are in the definitions of the Game section, then I'd respond mentally with a not-so-nice term and on the forum with a "Read the Manual", possibly tempered with a section.

Face it, the scoring rules are pretty important. They are also ridiculously clear. If you can't understand the scoring rules on a quick read of the right section of the Manual, you didn't read it right. (Don't get me started on the seeding rules, though...)

Mentor Mac here, Yes, Yes. I have read most of rules: field, robot and GAME!
Thank You. For spuring me on. The FRIST way has been. Some one stays up
to 2AM. Dreaming up scoring, and playing rules. This year math/time formula for returning ball to field.

No, you didn't miss anything, there is no bonus. The "bonus" comes from the fact that you have 6 balls you can score without defense from the other alliance allowed. Make the most of it
