2010 Waterloo Regional - No Rookies?

By my count, there are NO rookie teams attending Waterloo Regional this season (FRC Code: WAT)

One assumes this means that all of the Rookie-only awards will go unawarded from this regional... I think this is the first time that's ever happened.

Rookie teams this year have numbers over 3130 as i recall... Nobody going to WAT this year is over 2702.

Teams currently shown as attending 2010 WAT:

296
610
771
772
781
854
1000
1075
1114
1219
1246
1305
1310
1334
1503
1535
1565
2056
2185
2200
2361
2386
2609
2625
2702

i'm depressed that team 68 can't come this year just as we weren't able to come last year. Waterloo was one of my favorite competitions (particularly in 08' when we where the only American team there). the venue is quite nice and the people there where very friendly.

Good luck to everyone attending Waterloo this year!

Team 1000 is the only American team scheduled to be there this year, coming all the way from Indiana.

Indeed it does...

Looks like 3161 is offspring of 1334, OTHS Red Devils, according to their website

Actually, the nickname we've been using is "Devil Spawn" :D

He did, in the thread on Armadillo (148's robot, for those that don't know.) Apparently he has work in New Zealand.

With only 8 days until practice day, I want to say that anyone having trouble with C++ or debugging should drop by 2702's pit and ask for Art. I helped get a bunch of teams get dead robots moving and out of control mechanisms moving smoothly last year and would love to help again.

Also, I should probably change my CD account to have my real name on it or something...

In the schedual it says that robot dropoff is on wednesday between 6 and 8 pm

Do we HAVE to drop off our robots that day? or can we just bring them with us on thursday?

No, you can bring them Thursday.

According to the e-mail sent out to team contacts, it's just a measure to alleviate some of the Thursday morning traffic, and eliminate the problem of finding secure overnight robot storage for the teams that are planning to arrive Wednesday.

Pat is correct, it is not mandatory. However, it is highly recommended. Anyone who has attended the regional in the past knows how long of a process Thursday morning load in has been in the past. With the addition of bagged robots, the line ups along Ring Road could be even worse. So if you can make it to Waterloo on Wednesday night, please drop your robot off!
