Data Acquisition

Hello,
I was wondering how I should time my sensor loop in the Timed Tasks VI. What timing is good for what sensor?
I know I should RTFM but I really couldn't find the info on the sensors' manuals.

:) Thanks,
Noam

I assume you are referring to the Periodic Tasks.vi, which has an icon that says "Timed Tasks" (go figure :D ). Anyway, it really depends on what sorts of sensors your team is using and what you're using them for.

If for instance you are using a sensor (say a gyro or rotary potentiometer) to feedback into a PID control, you probably would like a fairly quick update and could put it into the 20 ms loop. If you want a different loop rate, there's no reason why you couldn't change the hard coded values to some other rate.

There are no hard and fast rules to what you should do. Basically, if you need the faster response/rate then use it, but if not, you can save the CPU cycles for other things.
