Re: Team 675 Kicker

Looks effective, but I think kick mechanisms on the wide side have a big advantage over narrow side kickers. Wide side kick robots can block a goal effectively and still kick the ball(s) away from the goal. With a narrow side kicker, you can either go wide side to the goal to play best defense, then not be able to kick balls away as the come in to you, or play narrow side to the goal and leave more of the goal exposed. Of course, our team has built a narrow side kicker so take that for what it's worth. Sometimes you do the best with what you have, and enjoy the experience.

I think it remains to be seen.
I really dont think it will have as much an impact compared to driver skills and drive systems.
You can only possess 1 ball at a time, whether you're a wide bot or not.

For the purposes of testing it was just our shops air flow which is maxed out at about 120 psi, but we took it down to 60. We will have a compressor and 2 solenoids for the cylinders to make sure that it continues to work as shown.

May I ask: if you weren't using the KoP solenoid valves for the video, what were you using?

Agree. Maneuverability will be plus, as always.
