Wow that's very compact.

Only 5 Jaguars?

Yup, 4 drive motors and a roller motor :D

Wow. That makes our electrical board look like a continent. Why are you using Jaguars as oppose to Victors? Also, how easy is it to gain access to all the pieces? Seems like it might be a little hard to change components or what ever.

We are using Jaguars rather than Victors because Jaguars are cheaper and they have more features though they are much larger we feel that is a fair tradeoff for the price and performance we gain especially with the CAN used on the Jaguars we have a greater level of control especially with current monitoring. All of our components are stuck down with Velcro on the plastic board, this makes it easy to get to any component on the board we just move a component out of the way for access.

Do I detect omnidrive? That's an interestingly shaped electronics board for your standard differential drive...

Yup good eye, we are useing a omnidrive configuration. Here is a short video of half the robot in action so far. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=42hRAcQtut0&sns=em

That is an incredibly nice and compact setup you have there! Are all of the LED lights on the jaguars visible in that setup?

yes they are, just not all at the same time

I personally would pay the $5 difference for the proven reliability of victors. Jags fail too much for my liking.

This was incredibly fun to program : The true size of this 'bot will be realized when this control board is actually on the robot. Can't wait :D

Nice electronics board. I personally would have set the wireless game adapter up somewhere else, not buried in all that metal, but in practice I don't think you will see any communication problems. Remember, that thing's a radio, and it has antennas that need to be in free air for best performance.

Victor failures this year outnumber Jaguar failures 8 to 0 for our team. No Jag failures last year, either. :)

What were the reasons for the Vics failing?
