Ethernet cables not 'clipping' into Classmate PC

We should have reported this earlier, but it appears the Ethernet port on our Classmate PC has been partially broken since we opened it. No CAT5 Ethernet cable (we tried a bunch of different ones) will 'click' and stay in the port. Although just an annoyance now, it's gonna be a bigger problem at the regional...

We already took a close look at the port. Did something break off the Ethernet port that we aren't aware of?

Is there an easy fix for this? I'll try getting some photos of the port later.

EDIT: To clarify the "opened" part, I meant since we opened the box it was in, we didn't open the Classmate itself. >_>

Well, this is not a real solution but you could jam something in with the cable. I actually had to do this at a LAN party today since my ethernet cable's clip thing was broken off. I just folded up a small piece of paper and jammed it in.

You could try carefully putting some rubber or foam in there.

You could buy a USB Ethernet dongle and use that or just use good old electrical tape :D

Thanks,
