Mabuchi Motor replacement

I've been trying to find motors with similar specs to the two mabuchis in the kit to use on our practice bot (to not waste valuable spares...).

Banebots doesn't stock anything similar, nor does robotmarketplace, so that rules out the places I know of.

I googled the part numbers and didn't find anything.

Would pretty much anything in the RS-555 line work? It's just practice. I don't know enough about the motors to know how different they are, but if it's just to get a robot running similarly...

many cordless drills contain similar motors. If you have some that you're not afraid to disassemble you might want to try that.

The RS-555 "standard" seems to refer to the mounting specs and overall physical size of the motor. There are many, many different electrical/power specs used to make motors in this series. So no, I doubt you'll even be able to get it to run similarly by using any old RS-555 motor.

I've googled some in addition, I have yet to find any that are even close in free speed.

Not sure of the specs, but here's something potentially similar. http://www.allelectronics.com/make-a...C-MOTOR/1.html

I did a bit of looking out of curiosity and I was able to find this:

http://www.yeno-electronics.com/prod...?ProductID=728

They're in China though, so I doubt you'd be able to get it in any short amount of time and they probably don't want to deal with single orders either...

Has anyone tried contacting Mabuchi Directly?

I didn't really have time to compare the specs, but Banebots has this and many other brushed DC motors
