CONTROL SYSTEM GLITCH
whenever the robot is on, the speed controllers and actuators click and stop working for a split second multiple times. Any ideas as to why this is happening.

Re: CONTROL SYSTEM GLITCH
Please don't take this the wrong way; I speak from personally having done this several times: change your battery out for a fresh one. With a dead battery, the control system will boot up and work when idle, but as soon as you touch the joystick or the compressor turns on, the voltage will dip, causing the control system to turn off for a moment, then come back up.
It could be something else; if a freshly-charged battery doesn't cut it, let us know and we'll help. |
Re: CONTROL SYSTEM GLITCH
The clicking may be circuit breakers tripping. With the power off and the battery removed, check every wire for correct polarity. What you describe could be a low battery or a dead short on the battery. Don't touch anything with your fingers. If it is a circuit breaker something is bound to be hot!

Re: CONTROL SYSTEM GLITCH
In addition, what orientation is your bot, and what surface are you running it on? We can't run our bots in our room very well because the carpet has padding that gives them too much traction to skid-steer: they end up tripping the self-resetting circuit breakers when the cims stall.

Re: CONTROL SYSTEM GLITCH
Another possible problem is System Watchdog Errors. You can look at the diagnostics tab to see if watchdog errors correspond to your glitches.

Re: CONTROL SYSTEM GLITCH
Im a programer from kick3nitx360's team and was wonder if this was the battery what voltage would show on the dashboard? also were only running for 30 min and sometimes only 1 min before the clicking starts, could the battery drain that fast?

Re: CONTROL SYSTEM GLITCH
Generally the answer is no but if you have a loose wire, the answer is yes if the battery has a significant load. Battery voltage should show 8-12 volts while driving.
