What to do with sensors?
We have the sensors wired up, but we don't quite know what to do with them.
As in we can get the feedback properly, we just need ideas for what to do with it. I was thinking of something that used the accelerometer along with the joystick input to detect if the bot was being forcefully pushed, and that would be cool, but its only effective in competition if you get pushed directly forwards or backwards. What else can we possibly do with them? |
Re: What to do with sensors?
Sensors are a a tool to solve a problem. If you don't know what to do with them, you most likely do not have a problem that needs to be solved with sensors. You should not attempt to solve non-existent problems just because the proposed solution is "cool".
Regardless, The gyro and accelerometer can be used to determine the robot angle, angular rate, velocity and position, which can be useful for some robots, particularly during autonomous. The gyro can also detect gravitational acceleration and it's direction, thus enabling you to detect how much of an incline your robot is at. |
