Leaking Solenoid?
We pretty much have our pneumatics system working perfectly, except for one thing: our solenoid is leaking.
It's a recent (2010) Festo solenoid and it's not letting the circuit go above 40 psi. Is our solenoid busted and needing replacement or is this just a programming/electrical error? |
Re: Leaking Solenoid?
Did you tighten the hose fittings on the valve? there is a hex hole in them that you can use a hex wrench on.

I assume you are talking about this Festo solenoid valve?
It came in a bag with some wires and 3 round metal fittings that screw into the holes (where the arrows are in the picture). Two go on the top, one goes on the bottom in the middle. The round metal fittings have no way to grip them on the outside, but they have a hex shaped hole in side that you can fit a hex wrench into. If you are talking about something else, please describe it or take a picture, so we can try to help you |
Re: Leaking Solenoid?
We have most of those in. We don't have the bottom ones on the sides in. Although we don't have any hose going there.

Re: Leaking Solenoid?
The two bottom ones on the ends are for the exhaust, you do not connect hoses there. The air from the regulator goes into the middle bottom port. The two top ports connect to the two ends of the pneumatic cylinder.
Make sure you push the hose all the way into the fittings, so it seals well. |
