Testing Controller Without Robot?

Is there a way that I can test out my gaming controller when I'm home without the robot being connected to it? When I'm at school I have to build and I wanted to get into programming, and my team wants to use a game pad for the robot. And I need a way to test if the buttons and everything is working correctly. Can I just go to joystick input examples and drag the vi from cRIO to My Computer in the project manager?

MakI dont have labview on this pc so I cant say for sure but I remember you can make a new file then look for input devices. You should see one for joystick. You have to open it, do whatever in a loop, then close it.

Wish I could help more but I dont have it on this pc.

The Windows "Game Controllers" control panel will show you the same thing you'll get from the Joystick Get vi (the first six axes and twelve buttons, anyway).
