taigene motor
 
are we allowed to use the taigene motor from delphi. not sure what rule it would fall under i cant remember when we get this one.

If it didn't come in this year's kit, you can't use it. <R52> and <R53>.

What about clause B in R52: (An unlimited number of COTS servos with a maximum output torque of 55 oz-in and maximum rotational speed of 100 rpm at 6 Vdc (e.g. HITEC model HS-322HD or HS-325HB servos, as provided in the KOP)

So long as the taigene conforms to these standards shouldn't it be allowed? Can anyone confirm the specs for it?

It's a motor, not a servo. Therefore, <R52-B> does not apply.

And I'd say it's a pretty safe bet (not remembering the specs offhand) that it can beat that output torque really easily, if not the RPM, even if it were counted as a servo.

If you look at the specs for this year's window motors, the Taigene would be somewhat similar, IIRC.
