[npoe] The original burn award was a deduction of 7 points from one half of a first-place tie (post #14 in the linked thread has the reasoning). A few contests later, it became a fixture. Draw your own conclusions...[/npoe]

Members of team 842 recreate the raising of the flag on Mt. Surabachi. The last thing we heard them say was "Hey, what happened to the guys holding the other side of the flag?"

<npoe>In all due respect, kudos to these kids for making the climb. I'd like to know how they managed to get the flag up there, because climbing mountains is much easier said than done, nevermind a flag.</npoe>
