Just want to say thanks to all the attending teams and volunteers that made this event happen!

Also congratulations to the the finalists who took us out after FOUR matches! ::ouch::

The finals definitely kicked things up a notch!

I hope to see all of you again next year for PARC #14! :ahh:

Re: 2010 PARC XIII

Well that was exciting. Too bad some of our solenoids decided to break, causing us to lose our kicker and cripple our lifter. :( We hope to have that fixed for Monty Madness next week.

Thanks for choosing us, Team 25. We did the best we could.

Also thanks to 341 for letting us borrow some of their batteries. Two of our older batteries weren't holding under a load.

1640 played some good defense against our alliance in the semi-finals. 341 was having a hard time scoring with them zooming around the field and blocking goals.

303, you guys were really good at dodging us with your mecanum wheel drivetrain. By the time we could turn around, you scored another goal!

Oh, just wondering: Was the ranking based on the W/L/T system? I was surprised to see 341 seeded last...

I think the web site ranking ended up being that way. I tried to get it to be the actual ranking method, but I couldn't get it right by the time of the competition.

Re: 2010 PARC XIII

Thanks to all our volunteers and the teams that made this another successful PARC! Thanks to our partners for the eliminations! 303 and 2607 both had some great machines and we all seemed to work well together! Congrats to the champs 25, 341 & 1989. Those were some fun matches to play! Good luck to everyone in the offseason!

BTW Qualifying was calculated using the week 2 updated scoring system.

Re: 2010 PARC XIII

On behalf of Team 341, we just wanted to say thank you to Scott Howell and the Tigertrons for another great PARC event. We have not missed one in 10 years and we love competing at TAHS.

Also congratulations to Teams 222, 303, and 2067. Those were some tough finals matches. Stretching things out to 4 games and winning by just one point (10-9) on the un-penalized score was just heart pounding.
We also wanted to thank Team 25 for selecting us and Team 1989 for being such great partners.

Hopefully we will see everyone on the road at the other off-season events. (Monty, Bridgewater, Duel, Brunswick, and Ramp Riot)

Great Job team 222!!

We had a great time. Had to leave a little early because we had a long drive back to Connecticut. In the end we always enjoy coming down to PARC because everyone is always fun to play against.

Re: 2010 PARC XIII

Anyone know if match videos will be posted? There's a "Match Archive" page on the Shinraikon site that leads to an error page.

Scott L. 10-05-2010 20:32

Re: 2010 PARC XIII

Does anyone have pictures they'd like to post from PARC XIII?

It will take longer than usual to get match videos. The encoder system I used didn't work so I have no digital copy of the event, I do have a DVD-DL that I recorded using a DVD Recorder, so I do have the video from the single camera.

I was working on getting the field software to work at the same time as I was working on the video setup, and the field took priority. Also I couldn't use the normal system for encoding (Tricaster), so the encoder pc was thrown together in a hurry( not powerful enough to encode the video), so thats why the webcast was extremely choppy. Sorry. Since I no longer have access to the tricaster, I am trying to come up with a budget to purchase a substitute. I am considering the Newtek VT card and building an encoder PC.

Re: 2010 PARC XIII

PARC has always been a great off season event to allow team members to try out different roles, and this year was no exception. Though only 6 students from our team were able to attend, we were able to quickly build a drive team and play to the best of our abilities, despite the bumps we encountered along the way. Overall, it was an amazing day with some excellent matches. And the first time a ball bounced in the bot at the last second while hanging.

303 had a great showing - Every time I saw them they were dancing around the field, scoring again and again. 1640 also played some great defense, blocking 341 in the semifinals. The real-time score was close enough to make me panic during my first time as drive coach :ahh: . Teams 341 and 1989 were great partners and I look forward to working with them again in the future.

When i look back 2 years ago, i can see how far FIRST has taken me.

Great job to everyone who attend the PARC! The last time I attended, was as a team member of FRC87...I believe in 2000 or '01. Brought back some awesome memories. Not sure if I am dating myself or the PARC?!

Anyway, it was great to be a part of the awesome volunteer crew and to see all of the teams interact so well with each other. Congrats to all who attended and competed with such intensity and gracious professionalism.

Bravo to all!
