Gaming Adapter, and Friends

Hi there.
Firstly, i apologize if i've posted this in the wrong thread, i'm a bit tired.
Our new gaming adapter is by dint of snow, etc, arriving later than we expected. So, we're attempting to connect to our adapter from last year, a WGA600N, to get some driving practice. We've connected our Classmate to the wireless router, a WRT610N, and connected our gaming adapter to the router. We are able to access the router's control settings, but are having issues connecting to the adapter. We've hit the "restore to factory settings" button, but when we try to browse to http://192.168.1.250, and http://192.168.1.255. What's wrong!? Help!
Thanks

Re: Gaming Adapter, and Friends

You should be able to use your old gaming adapter and router in the same state as they were in last year without any issues at all. I haven't touched ours at all, and they work fine. When you reset to factory settings, you can connect with an ethernet cable and try 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1. Those are the most common ones. When you had wireless issues, the first thing to check is that both are operating in the same band. Last year, we used 5ghz Wireless-N band to communicate. However, the classmate dosen't support the 5ghz band, so we are using the 2.6ghz Wireless-G band instead. Your old gaming adapter was probably still on 5ghz Wireless-N.

As a side note, you could have easily have saved your gaming adapter and router from last year in their original condition, and connect the Classmate with a physical ethernet cable to the Router.
