Should the encoder example work right out of the box?
I uploaded the encoder example code to the robot without any modifications. When we spin the encoder (4EP) the distance indicator continually jumps between .25 and 0.
Has anyone else had this problem? |
Re: Should the encoder example work right out of the box?
It sounds to me like you only have have one of the encoder signals wired.

Both signals are wired. We tried three different encoders and all three have the same problem.
We got them working last year. |

I don't have it in front of me right now, but I believe I have the wires in the following order: brown red blue, ground power signal. These go into DIO 1. I have channel B, the yellow wire, going into DIO 2.
Thanks for the help. |
Re: Should the encoder example work right out of the box?
So after days of trying to figure this out we finally found the problem.
One of the CRIO modules is broken, but just a little. It does everything except read the DIOs. So we swapped it out and now everything works. |
